If I understand, a hebrew word should be "inverted" to be well coded in my pdf. But in this case, would the logical word be the same as the printed word? What append if I do a "search" for a word (consider that I have the hebrew Windows and keyboard). Would the search look for the printed word or for the logical word? Yes, you can use an embedded font with Hebrew characters. >Moreover, is is possible to mix hebrew and english? There are no limitations on what mixture of fonts can be used in the same document. > Is there a "bidirectionality algorithm" as there is in > html or rtf formats? Nothing specific, but probably not needed either. PDF files have each character at a specific position, with the position decided in advance. This means there is no need for language-specific features for flow and justification. It is possible for a font to have a negative advance. That is, after showing a character, the position for the next character may be before the current one. Not too clear how this works with variable width fonts. But this is not necessary, just a convenience.
