I looked at the PEGN grammar, and I'm still a little confused as to the practical distinction between <-- and <- rules -- it seems to be something along the lines of AST node vs. not AST node, but given your explicit exclusion of any sort of semantic handling from the grammar, that seems an odd distinction.
