"Tsipras’s failure" - actually, he did not fail. He did his job when the existing organization of social-democrats in Greece, PASOK, fell apart. Some substitute had to perform the same fakery, at least for a few crucial months. Tsipras and Syriza made promises, proceeded to break them, avoided serious self-criticism, and continued in office.
