Iran, Bolivia sign MoU on expansion of industrial, mineral cooperation

Iran-Bolivia-MoU

Iran and Bolivia here Wednesday night signed a memorandum of
understanding on expansion of bilateral industrial and mineral
cooperation.

The MoU was inked by Deputy Industries and Mines Minister for Economic
and International Affairs Mohsen Shaterzadeh and visiting Bolivian
Minister of Economic Development Celinda Sosa Luna.

At the signing ceremony, Shaterzadeh gave a synopsis of positive
developments in Latin America over the past decade and Iran's new
policies favoring expansion of all-out relations with countries in the
region including Bolivia.

He stressed the importance of bolstering bilateral cooperation in the
economic, industrial, mineral, mining and industrial, oil, gas,
petrochemical, agricultural, technical and engineering fields.

He also expressed Iran's readiness to share its expertise and
achievements with Bolivia and contribute to the country's economic
development.

Shaterzadeh said Iran's private sector was ready to participate and
invest in the implementation of Bolivian infrastructural projects.

He said there were great prospects for increased Iran-Bolivia
cooperation in the development of small, medium and large-scale
industries including foodstuff, mechanized agricultural and irrigation
systems, construction of industrial zones, cement factories and gas
power plants as well as agricultural tools.

He urged the two sides to lay the groundwork for a greater exchange of
information and experts in order to open up new areas for bilateral
cooperation.

He voiced the readiness of the Iranian Ministry of Industries and
Mines to set up a joint committee to follow up agreements on
industrial and mineral cooperation.

The Bolivian minister, during his stay in Tehran, held talks with
Iranian Minister of Mines and Industries Alireza Tahmasbi, the deputy
foreign minister, the head of the Small Industries Organization and
Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines head Ali-Naqi Khamoushi.
