Dear Petri netters,

We are pleased to announce the official release of the second generation of
PNML Framework (current version is 2.1.6).

PNML Framework is a prototype implementation of the ISO/IEC 15909
Standard Part 2, which defines Petri net models interchange format (PNML) for Petri net tools. The Standard specifications are currently stable. According to their status, only editorial changes can be made when the soon to be approved
Final Draft International Standard stage will be reached.

PNML Framework is a Java library built on top of PNML meta-models.
It is aimed at being integrated into Petri nets tools so that they can start
supporting the standard format. It can also be used to develop a
standalone executable tool if your current tool is not Java-based.
We intend to support other languages by next year.

We welcome your feedback to help us improve the framework and its documentation.

ISO Petri Nets working group has set up an official web site at
http://www.pnml.org
regarding the PNML standard. It mainly provides tool construction information
and the grammar of PNML.

PNML Framework is distributed at http://pnml.lip6.fr/

Best regards,

Lom Messan Hillah, on behalf of the AFNOR group members working on ISO/ IEC 15909.
