Markus replied to me and reminded me that I shouldn't use the tarball but the current git repository for the moment. What I did, resulting in successful tests. Since Lintian didn't complain (and for me personally everything looks good), I uploaded the package; it should appear on NEW soon (which has a long queue in the moment, unfortunately).
