No. The only time I unplugged the mouse was when I shut down to swap it out with the "new" one. The old mouse is pretty old. It's a PS2. The "new" mouse is still several years old, but it's a USB. I do need to go get another mouse, since I use this USB mouse on another machine. I also need to get a USB extension cord for it to work better with my desk setup.
