If you don't vote, you can't be blamed for the mess that the politicians are making? Think again. Not voting, is the same thing as voting for the party in power, and by doing so you lose your moral right to criticize. Keep in mind that when you vote, you send a message that even the winners should not discount. If you choose to vote for a third party, you draw a picture of what you do want and the direction that you want them to go. I am planning to vote Green next week, not because I expect them to become the next government, but because I want the winners to be aware that there are many Canadians who are seriously concerned about the future of the planet. I am particularly concerned that the way that the government is so concerned about the macre-economic system, that the environmental issues will be forgotten. All that has occurred now is that with the economy may slow sufficiently to reduce carbon emissions at least temporarily.
