When someone pays their way and contributes to others we call it successful. But, the real reason social security has been a success is what it has brought to Americans, a chance to live out their final years without being a burden to their families and having a means to support themselves. And they do support themselves, they pay in when they are productive so they can have a means of support later in life.
I didn't admit the government stole from the SS funds, I stated it as fact. The first thing that should be done to "fix" social security is to stop the plundering of its funds and repay what was stolen. There would be no discussion of the SS going broke if we just admitted to stealing the funds and paid them back.
