That's been my experience, that you should only have one or the other connected.

I can't answer this question but thought I'd comment because of our
experience.  We use TeamViewer to connect to users' computers to provide
support for our applications.  We've found that if they have a wireless
enabled system that is also plugged in via an Ethernet cable we're often
unable to work because it's so slow.  If we turn off their wireless it's
okay.  I'm quite sure I'm not explaining this well because I don't
understand how it works but maybe it's useful?
