Hi Group, I noticed several posts last night about using Visual Studio 2005 with the Quotes Plus.
A few comments/thoughts: 1) the best information as to how to use the QP COM is located on this group under "Links": "DJ Traders Un-Official QP2 Developer's Document.pdf". It gives a good explanation of the Properties and Methods available. 2) I have programmed extensively in VC++ and VB with the Quotes Plus COM using the following editions: 1) Visual Studio .Net 2003 Standard Edition 2) VC++ 2005 Express Edition Beta 3) just got VC++ 2005 Standard Edition. 3) IMPORTANT: At this time I believe that only the 2003 edition works properly with Quotes Plus. I just spent over an hour on the phone with Microsoft support today because a test program I wrote in 2003 and the Express Edition of 2005 crashes with the new 2005 Standard Edition using C++. I also have gotten some incorrect mathematical calculations with the Express Edition of 2005 calling some price methods in the COM object. Microsoft is seeing if the error is on their end and I will be sending my code and error files to Quotes Plus as well. If interested I would be willing to post some sample code and instructions as to how to connect to the QP COM object in VC++ 2003 or possibly even VB 2003. Until the problem is resolved I would not recommend serious applications using the new 2005 edition. John ------------------------ Yahoo!
