There is no 1.9.0 as yet., but what reorganization there is *is* described in the NEWS file of R-devel. lda is still in Venables and Ripley's MASS. Perhaps you forgot to rsync up the recommended packages? (Run tools/rsync-recommended in the top level of the sources before running configure.) -- Brian D.
