People have contacted me (as mailing list maintainer) and asked about the appropriateness of such postings, and I've usually explained that it is ok, as long as it remains short, is explicitly related to R, to the point, and refers to a URL for further information. Hence Bert's add was close to the target. The other anonymous add which only gave an "anonymous" e-mail address for contact (see above; of course we really should e-bomb it :-) was *VERY* inappropriate though.
