Dear all, the GEOSTAT Summer school 2011 in Landau will run from the 24th to the 31st of July in Landau and focuses on important aspects of statistical analysis of spatial and spatio-temporal data using open source / free GIS tools: R, SAGA GIS,GRASS GIS, FWTools, Google Earth and similar. The course participants learn how to move data back and forth between the different environments; how to produce scripts and automate analysis. Several courses will include the usage of R for spatio-temporal data analysis (e.g. courses by Prof. Roger Bivand, Prof. Gerard Heuvelink and Prof. Edzer Pebesma).
