Since we're getting all nostalgic and stuff I bought a book the other day just for kicks and grins titled "Understanding R:Base" by Alan Simpson and Karen Watterson. The copyright is 1988. It was at a Volunteers of America store. This one is for the museum.

In 85 computers were PC's were getting pretty useful. R:Base was an extraordinary tool that managed to run well on very minimal equipment. In those days a 10 MB drive was considered huge, and 640KB of memory was pretty standard. I still remember how ecstatic I was when 20MB drive became available at a reasonable price. -- Dennis McGrath mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- Productivity Tools for R:Base Programmers http://www.enteract.com/~mcgrath/dennis -- Full time consultant with: SQL Resources Group Steve Hartmann Oak Park, IL mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Jim Limburg Sent: Monday, June 03, 2002 6:53 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: INPUT -- obsolete ?? Thanks Bill, Mike Since 1985 -- wow... I new some of the code I was working with was old, but was under the impression that computers weren't even main stream in 85... I was only out of High school for about hmm.. 6 years by then.. I will ask the RDCC to list this in the obsolete list then.
