Bought my first PC in 1985/1986, 1 - 8085 processor Kaypro with 640 KB of
main memory, 20 Mb Seagate hard disk, 1 -5.25 floppy, 1 8 pin dot matrix
Brother printer...Total cost $2,700. OS was of course MS-DOS 1 point
something and application software was of course Rbase 4000.

In 85 computers were PC's were getting pretty useful.

R:Base was an extraordinary tool that managed to run well on very minimal
equipment.

In those days a 10 MB drive was considered huge, and 640KB of memory was
pretty standard.
I still remember how ecstatic I was when 20MB drive became available at a
reasonable price.

Thanks Bill, Mike

Since 1985 -- wow... I new some of the code I was working with was old, but
was
under the impression that computers weren't even main stream in 85... I was
only out of High school for about hmm.. 6 years by then..

I will ask the RDCC to list this in the obsolete list then.

Again, Thanks
Jim
