Bernie, The data I want to capture on my com1 port is coming in from my telephone system. The telephone system thinks it is printing raw data (fixed records) to a serial printer. Every time a telephone call comes in or out of the office, the phone system sends the log record of the call out its serial port. I want to connect my PC to the phone system and have rbase capturing it to a file somehow.
Right now, I am using hyperterminal to capture it to a log file and it works great. I do, however, have to manually close the log, move the file to rbase and set hyperterminal to capture to a new log file. I want to automate this somehow but for now it is at least working.
