Thanks to all who with their Ideas gave me input to look on my problem
from new point of views.

Now I belive I found what went wrong. The orginal DB was 2.11 one table
contains backupcopys of my 2.11 forms and views with expressions
developed with different setting for charcters like quotes and some
more.

As sone I removed those tables I no longer had any problems with unload
all, I could produce a clean new copy of the DB.

So as conclousion to this one I can say I was punished for not doing
what I should have done in the first place, that is I should have
cleaned out garbage.

Thanks for the Ideas that finally put me on the right track

Gunnar,

That must not be your problem, since you had no keys, and you did
unload all.

It's too bad the unload file is too large to TRACE. Here's a trick that

might be of use (or might not!). In a test directory:

SET ECHO ON
OUTPUT gunnar.txt
RUN unloadfile.DAT
OUTPUT SCREEN
SET ECHO OFF

Then open gunnar.txt in wordpad or notepad. It will be large, but not as

large as the database. Search for "error." (Hopefully that is not a
frequently occuring word within your data.) When you find a message,
you will see exactly what the problems were, and exactly which SQL
or LOAD command caused the problem.
