Ak-Ak outrage
Well-known liberal humanitarian Piers Akerman reportedly sparked a walk-out at
Wollongong University on Monday when he held forth
about "the Aboriginal industry" before an audience of creative arts and
education graduates. Outraged student comments on guru
Akermans speech ranged from "deeply offensive", to one bloke who was "absolutely
disgusted by his [Akerman's] fascist diatribe".
Akerman, for his part, told the Illawarra Mercury he didn't notice anyone walk
out during his eloquent speech, which discussed cultural
self-censorship by political and media elites.
