So you're saying that it's good for links in wiki pages to point to
something like

[1] http://wiki.sagemath.org:9001/blah/blah

If I'm correct, then I'll go ahead and edit links that point to, say

http://sage.math.washington.edu:9001/blah/blah

with something like [1].
