Thanks for that clarification - I for one wasn't 100% certain that was the 
specifics of the ODK.  Yes, that is absolutely true - as an example, 
smaller institutions like mine nearly always hire CS or business profs at 
associate or full level if they have any industry experience, just so the 
pay cut they take isn't quite as horrendous.

Also, think of it this way - every time someone who doesn't know what they 
are doing in engineering (like me) can focus on math, that is a net win for 
Sage and the other ODK projects overall.  Time isn't completely fungible, 
but it's at least partly so.
