The feature I would >really< like to see is if there are any files in a
directory passed on AGE (date/time stamp)
Our situation - we monitor a directory used as a queue. Most of the time, we
move a few files at a time, so we have a countfiles alarm if there are more
than 25 files.
The problem is there are a few instances during the day when a large volume
of files gets dropped into the queue. We get a false alarm that clears up
in 3-6 minutes. What I really would like to know is if any files have been
in the directory more an 10 minutes.
So - it would be helpful to have a check like:
--------------------
COUNT
Path: \\SERVER\SHARE\directory\subdir
Pattern: *.*
AGE: {Greater Than/Less Then} [Text box - put value here] [Drop
down: Seconds, Minutes, Hours, Days, etc. ]
(ie: AGE [GREATER THAN] [10] [Minutes])
[NT authentication here]
AND ALARM WHEN [more/less] [text box- value ] files are found.
---------------------
This could also be useful to watch for files expected to appear - you could
raise an alarm if you don't see a new file every hour - regardless of
filename.

Subject: [SA-list] Countfiles updated (pattern with date/time)
The countfiles com add-on on http://www.woodstone.nu/salive/addons.asp has
been updated.
The pattern can now be more "flexible", it can now incorporate the current
time and/or date.
This can be usefull to check if a logfile that contains the current date
within it's name is available or not.
Syntax to be used (within the pattern) is the same for the contains part of
the HTTP/HTTPS check.
(
Example:
if you want to check if
mydatabase_db_20040818.log is available
(and the next day for mydatabase_db_20040819.log)
then use as pattern:
mydatabase_db_{yyyymmdd}.log
if you want to check for a file that is created every hour:
log1720040818.log
log{hh}{yyyymmdd}.log
)
As always all feedback is welcome.....
Dirk.
