Does scalr.net register dns names in a farm-specific dns zone (versus an application-specific dns zone)? I've gotten clued in to the fact that there is an application-specific dnz zone for each application, but I haven't come across anything like a farm-specific dns zone. Am I missing this? Does it exist?
So for example, say you have the following scenario: Farm ID: 1977 Farm name: my-staging-farm Farm contains one or more instances of each of the following roles: myWww myMysqllvm myApp myNfs That farm hosts the following two applications: stage.myapp1.com stage.myapp2.com So, based on the creation of application-specific dns zones, for example, a single host is reachable by the following names: ext-myWww.stage.myapp1.com ext-myWww.stage.myapp2.com It would be nice if that host was reachable by the following name, even before any applications had been configured on it: ext-myWww.my-staging-farm-1977.scalr.net Even better would be if I could configure my own dns zone for the farm (still managed by scalr.net on scalr.net dns servers), and then the host would be reachable by the following name for example (assuming I had configured this tld for the farm): ext-myWww-my-staging-farm-1977.platform.mytld.com Is there any sort of farm-specific dns zone currently? If so, please provide details. If not, please consider this a feature suggestion. Thanks. -...@wb Arthur W.
