Sounds like you did the update in the middle of or an only partially complete 
sync, or the sync didn't finish and so primary.sqlite.bz2 is newer or older 
than other parts of the repo.  Make sure your rsync runs cleanly, and then try 
again.  Does your rsync have --delete-delay --delay-updates ?   If not, that 
should at least reduce the window of a partial sync in the future.

     This morning, I am trying to perform a "yum update" from our 
rsync'd copy of the Scientific Linux 6.x x86_64 repo, and ran into the
