Re: [313] DEMF IS AT HART PLAZA!
Don't forget to stop and see the "mating rituals" of the Detroit youth on Belle Isle. (spoken in a British accent) The "Ride on The Strip 'till 2am Mating Display" is a must see, where the youth drive aimlessly in search of the opposite sex, flashing their colorful cars, motorcycles, clothes, and bare body parts. That's followed my the "Thunder Mating Call" where the male of this species, upon finding a suitable mate, turns the knob up on his car stereo in an attempt to lure the female to his car. Males who's music volume is inferior to others(usually installed at the time of the car's creation), are generally laughed at and are told to "Turn that bullsh_t off dawg!". The male will then converse with the female, trying to win her affections with empty promises and flattering remarks. If the female is impressed, she will then give the male the telephone number to her dwelling. If she tires of his obvious lying, she will give him the finger. diana potts <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> on 02/16/2001 03:37:42 PM To: bryan bickel <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, 313@hyperreal.org cc: Subject: Re: [313] DEMF IS AT HART PLAZA! i second that from good sources. we can all sleep now & get back to our daily lives. :) d ps. there will be a scheduled field trip to see the rare lake bass for those who are disappointed.

The entire festival has been moved to Belle Isle, a family park island about 2 miles east of Hart interesting. If its True, HOPEFULLY the promoters will realize that maybe they should shut belle isle down to cars COMPLETELY, and allow foot traffic only on the bridge. _ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com

That is ridiculous. The work being done is on the lower level by the rink. The will be replacing tons of tile. The work will be completed long in advance and will not interfere whatsoever with the DEMF. Hi 313ers www.worldtechnonation.com has now launched. The first issue features interviews with Alan Oldham, Ian O'Brien and Speedy J, music reviews and a competition to win a Maurizio CD. The main section of the site is the artists section which will hopefully grow into a pretty comprehensive database of techno artists worldwide. As you are in effect the test audience for the site any comments, information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, so mail me off list or directly from the site. The links section should be up in a couple of days. Peace [EMAIL PROTECTED]

You really have to laugh... This has been asked daily for the last three months (or something like that). Today, some people voiced their frustrations about the repeat posts on this topic, so this was a bit ill-timed (no fault of yours). There is no info on lineups for DEMF. It is going on from May 26-28 (you should go from the 25-29 for all the cool parties). We are in receipt of top-secret communiques indicating it will rock, but no specifics have been obtained. I guess we can anticipate this will will be a daily phenomenon until about the fourth of July... Derrick May interview
Well... guess what, The interview didn't happen. He arrived in Toronto about 1hr prior to his gig. He drove from Detroit to Toronto - which usually takes about 3-1/2hrs., however there was a snowstorm that definitely made the trip longer. He did put on quite a performance last night at Tonic, he started out with a couple of disco tunes, then played a few classic's (French Kiss, House Music Anthem, Conversations). Then, he really layed into the crowd, playing some really tough s**t (Advent, Samuel L Sessions, Technasia etc). He didn't let up for the rest of the night, which really surprised me, I figured he would get a little deeper at some point. But that never happened. Thanks to everyone who sent in questions and comments! If you're interested here's the playlist from the show which featured a few of his tunes.
