try living in adelaide :-( i don't seem to be able to find anything cool to
go to. i'm into deep house too, and would love to play out. the only hope i
see is organising something myself. maybe i should move over to melb and
experience honkytonks, which from patrick's email below, and other's
reports, sounds great!! also i'd love to hear some of cyclone's 'sexy' dj
sets when she plays!!!

deep house = sexy!!

yep, the above is correct and the loudness to me sounds fine. all tracks are

[313] track id's pleeeease

2001-10-19 Thread nathan goode
hi all

got a few tracks that i'm dying to know what they are and who did them:

first off, from the Boo Williams mix on Deep House page the first track.
with the vocals:

"Praise, Praise, Praise, Praise. i remember the days, when i thought i
was alone, life was always a maze & sometimes i felt disowned. but you
were always there & you have always cared. no matter how far i scream,
you'd already be there. now when i look back, i can see the things
you've done. and i hope to thank you, for my saviour and your son."

from the mike clark/norm talley set on freqdetroit a track with the
vocals:

"whatever it takes, whatever it is i'll be there for you. it's all i
have to give now baby. to you my baby. take me baby, and take your time
right now baby. cos i want to love you all nite long baby. i want to
take you, wrap you in my arms. wanna love you all nite baby. wanna show
you what love really is. i wanna be there for you now baby, baby,
baby..." (and so on).

and lastly, (i promise!!) from a glenn underground set on betalounge a
track with the vocals:

the first - "i can barely remember, the flavour of you kiss on the tip
of my tongue. but i can still feel the moment. your spirit rushed thru
me like a river wild. your spirit rushed thru me like a river wild. it
wet me like an ocean crashing on the sands of the sahara. now many moons
have passed since we rode that wave, and many miles i've tred on my
journey home. lying on distant shores, a shred of hope flickers as i try
to forget. a once in a lifetime, never come your way again, wish upon a
star. love? is on my mind."

thank you

Hi all

Hope the other guys don't mind me chipping in, but I might as well jump on
this too. I host a weekly show in Australia, "The Outer Limits" on Radio
Adelaide, Tues nights @ 9pm.
http://radio.adelaide.edu.au/

Due to distance & postage, mp3s are fine for me & as Kent & JC have said,
I'll listen to all tracks, and most probably play them all.

Thanks

(313) Norm Talley - The Mystic EP - How much???

2010-03-16 Thread Nathan Goode
Hi all

Just after some advice. Someone has offered to purchase my copy of the above
record via Discogs, but after looking there & on gemm.com there are no other
copies that are selling, so my question is, how much is this record worth? I
don't want to rip the guy off by asking too much, but don't want to rip
myself off at the same time by asking not enough.

Also, I'm going to be selling my collection on discogs, but before I do, if
anyone wants to browse my collection and make me an offer on anything, hit
me off list. Lots of Detroit & Chicago goodies.

thoughts are with Nick¹s friends and family at this time.

This brings me to a question I¹ve been meaning to ask for ages, so I¹m sorry
if the timing is a bit Œoff¹. I remember about 10 years or maybe more back,
I used to chat to a guy named Nick on 313. He was from the UK, and also went
by the name DJ Pacific at one time. Not sure if this is the same Nick?

Can anybody advise?

Once again, really sad to hear this news.

it, so glad I found it. So many great tracks on here. There are a couple I
don't know which might get me thrown off 313 ;-) but I'd be grateful if anyone
could tell me what is playing at 8.39 (sounds very Red Planet/UR)and also
starting at 1.39.50. I'm sure they are easy for you knowledgable folk.

Cheers

Yeah he's been pumping out the releases. He did one on Dockside a year or so

Re: Book of Drexciya

2020-05-11 Thread Nathan Goode
I got my book quite a few months back. Pretty sure I only got it then as I’d
commented on a post on Facebook asking when it was coming out as I saw Tresor
were selling some, but I’d donated on the Indigogo thingy.

I received it from a person in Sydney (I’m in Adelaide) who seemed to be
involved with Tresor. I’d ordered the hardback, but received the softcover.

So long story short, yes :-)

Yeah this is a VERY hard question. I think I’ll choose the one track that
turned me onto this music, because if not for this, I may have totally missed
out on a load of great music. It was - Intellitronic - Pixel.

First heard it on radio in Adelaide, Australia on the China Syndrome show which
was hosted by Offworld Records’ Jason Martin and Tim Jackiw at the time.

 Yo.

A couple of (313) things I thought people would want to know about.

 New Strand https://strand313.bandcamp.com/album/silicon

 Newish Russ Gabriel on Ferox.
https://russgabriel.bandcamp.com/album/off-centre. I like his other recent
stuff, but this is back on top form for me. Like he is drifting somewhere
in between his '00s less techy output (of which I am a huge admirer) and
 the recent return to techno.

Some Nuron releases I'd missed. https://nuron.bandcamp.com/music. There is
also a new 2x12" Likemind reissue that I need to pick up before it goes
 https://www.rubadub.co.uk/records/likemind-06.

Placid Angels - Touch the Sky
 https://figure-music.bandcamp.com/album/touch-the-earth (note, for some
reason the digital release is priced much higher at Bandcamp than other
stores for some reason I am struggling to fathom).

 Kyle Hall's MPC Dreams https://kylehall.bandcamp.com/album/mpc-dreams

Urban Tribe reissue (which is incredible)
 https://urbantribe.bandcamp.com/album/urban-tribe

Loads of other great stuff about presently, but this was the topical stuff
 I don't think I've seen mentioned.

Re: (313) RE: [313] What would you consider to be your rarest 313record?

2002-09-28 Thread nathan goode
hi all

i just bought a secondhand copy for AUD$8 of:
The Seven Grand Housing Authority (TP)
"I Wanna Go Higher"
on Serious Grooves - catalouge no SGT9.
It's a yellow 8 inch and has I Wanna Go Higher (The spiritual mix) on A, and
I Wanna Go Higher (The shivering Tales Mix) on B. It says "Limited Edition
Coloured Vinyl Series. For Collectors Only"
just wondering, is this rare?

I'm pretty much impressed by anything they've done.

"Spiritually Speaking" on Slip & Slide, their latest album is very nice,
kind of "Earth, Wind & Fire" sounding at times. Don't have any of their
other albums, but I am searching for them.

Although I must admit whenever I see something by Blaze, I pretty much pick

I picked up a double cd a couple of years ago called "Pacific State" that
was just all Japanese techno artists, and had little bio's of each of them.
It was pretty cool, might have to check it out again.

Also, although he's not techno, DJ Krush, does some great instrumental
hip-hop.

(313) Remix of Burujha? & track ID

2003-01-13 Thread nathan goode
Hi all

I was listening to mix 499 "Into The Future" by Boo Williams on
DeepHousePage
http://www.deephousepage.com/boow.ram.

The first track sounded like a remix of Octave One's Burujha. Now, I could
be way off, but does anyone know if it is a remix, and by whom, or if not,
what the track
is?

Secondly, the second track has the following male lyrics. Well it obviously
has
more, but these are the only ones I can really hear properly :)

"cause where i, i come from, there aint no foolin' around.
so you're time has come, what you saying now?
i can be a player if it's games that you want.
i can be your lover if it's love that you want.
taking time to decide, opportunity.
, insanity, takes a hold of your hand(or head?), leaving you
standing around.
take to long like we said. what's going down?
I'm a man of the real, I'm a man of the real deal.
I'm in love with the real, I'm in love with the real deal."

Oh, and finally, if anyone could ID the third track too, which sounds like
it might be in spanish maybe, that would be wonderful.

thanks a bunch!!

there's been talk of whether this came straight from KDJ or not, and yes, we

make up your own mind. however, even tho i find it a tad racist, i'm still

2003-03-25 Thread nathan goode
hi all

i finally bought a copy of "city boy players feat eddie fowlkes" yesterday,
although it's been out for 4 years now, and damn, that album is dynamite!!

i see that "the love song" is produced by Norm Tally.

does anyone have a discog of his? i've heard a few of his records, and is it
just me, or is he one of the most under-rated stars of the detroit
techno/house scene? he hardly seems to get a mention. his tracks are great
and his deep house sets are awesome!!! i feel that he just doesn't get the
attention he deserves. what are the thoughts of ppl that actually live in
detroit?

i'd love to see him make the trip to australia one day, so any aussie
promoters out there, do yourself, or me ;-), a favour, and get him out here.

no more demf! + record id

2001-03-31 Thread nathan goode
hi all

for many of us unfortunate enough not to be going to the demf, i think
there should be no more mention of the DEMF on 313 and all sites
referring to DEMF should be pulled down. the sheer mention of it, brings
me to a depresing state, so then i put on some records to 'lift me up',
but then on realising they'll probably be played at the DEMF, the
depression starts again. it's a vicious cirle :)

but seriously, i've been seeing people complaining about who is, or who
is not playing, but just count your lucky stars you're going to be
there. hope you all have a great time!!!

alos, can anyone please help me i have a record by someone called
'jackson' and i believe it's called 'dracula's on a good thing' can't it
read it all. the both sides of the label are black, so don't know any
track names. any help would be appreciated.

peace

Ordering Records On-Line

2001-04-13 Thread nathan goode
Hi peeps

Can someone give me some advice for buying records online, ie - which
stores should i but from? i've bought from submerge before, but was
wondering about other stores like groovetech, recordtime, sonic groove.

i've seen & listened to plenty of records from the groovetech site that
i want to buy. how long does it take to receive the records once
ordering & how are they with postage?

are there any other sites i should try?

any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: [313] most important??

2001-04-23 Thread nathan goode
Hiya

Most important personally would have to be "It is what it is" by Rythim
is Rythim.
I first heard a snippet of this track on the BBC doco "Dancing in the
Streets". At that moment it totally changed my 'musical' life forever. It
took me ages to find this track, but once I did, I started looking for
and listening to records that I never new existed before and discoverd a
whole new wonderful world of music. It was also the start of having no
money as I spent it all on records a day after each payday ;)

[313] track ids - Mike Clark/Norm Talley Frequncydetroit mix

2001-07-02 Thread nathan goode
Hi

does anyone have a track listing of the mike clark & norm talley mix on
the frequencydetroit site?

if not, can anyone tell me what the following tracks are:

the first track on part one which has the vocal "always come back to
your love. show me where i belong tonite. give me a reason to stay. no
matter if i go left or right. i always go back to your love."

next up is a track that comes in at about 41mins and has a big
horn/brass section. can't explain it anymore, other than to say i've
heard it played by a few other detroit guys. if you here it, you'll know
it.

straight after that is a track that has the vocal that sounds like
"mixed up in your head? theres no vision to show your life (your whole
life)?" not too sure if these are the words, i downloaded the low
quality recording, so it's a bit muffled.

lastly: a track that goes "here comes the sun, here comes the light,
here comes the day"

thanks a bunch

i'd be lost without you guys

[313] Track IDs - Mike Grant set

2002-01-17 Thread nathan goode
Hello oh wise peeps

can anyone tell me the names of the following tracks from Mike Grant's set from
the ABadMutha site. They go a little like this:

"There are people trying to ?, The extensions of ?, When the day is
. ?
Makes me feel so alive. Makes my life feel so alive x2. Thru the crowded
streets where I have walked. Rushing past with only you."

& the other:

"Look in my eyes do you see me the way i see you. Look at me now, do you need
me the way i need you. But it's not right for me to be there & it's not right
for me to care. Inside your soul do you desire to touch me. Inside your soul do
you desire to caress me. Cause i do so deeply, want it so bad."

Thanks a bunch!

2002-02-02 Thread nathan goode
Me: Nathan Goode - 24

Live in Adelaide, Australia. Been on 313 for about 4 years now. First
lurking for a while and now occasionally posting, usually Track IDs!

Work for a bank (boring!!) but about to start a radio announcing course and
have done a bit of freelance writing.

Like all music styles, especially techno, house, deep house, hip-hop, jazz,
bossanova.

Got into this music by watching the TV doco 'Dancing In The Streets' when i
heard the wonderful 'It Is What It Is' by Derrick May. Ever since then my
music tastes changed as I realised that this was the music I waited years to
hear. Since that day been buying Detroit techno, house and other records.

Bedroom dj & producer (although I haven't done any music for ages!) Only a
baby on the record front, compared to a lot of you guys, only have about
200, but ever increasing, as my pay packet decreases.

It's on BCM (Brian Carter Music) Records.
It says it's by Honest 69 (written by Lil Louis) and has a comic type

Tracklisting is A: French Kiss (Triple "M" Mix); French Kiss (Diamond Mix).

Does anybody know when this version came out?
