Who will want to run a dual monitor setup on a pi ? and yes I agree they run a lot hotter than the other models. I've used a 3b+ as my LMS server and player for years now without any problems. I'd be interested to know how you use a Khados tone bar as I would like to try using another SBC ( FriendlyElec Nanopim4 v2) as a server and player and as none of the pi DAC hats will work on them maybe a Khados is the answer. My motive for using it is you can fit a NVME M2 SSD drive via a hat and that would enable me to get rid of my external USB drive and reduce the clutter of wires. Does the Khados simply plug into a USB port ? We can't stop here this is bat country. Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] What is the best top end player now ?
Hi there, I recently built a new setup as my ReadyNas ( which was never brilliant ) is showing signs of age. I used a Raspberry Pi model 2 as my server , aadded a 500gb USB external disc as storage and was up and running in no time, the Pi power supply uses 5 volts and outputs ~ 2.0 amps which is enough to power the drive directly. You need to have version of LMS built for hard float but some kind soul has done this for us. Total outlay for computer bits £75 - can't be bad can it ? [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Best server for Transporter
Hi all, having just moved home I don't have a remote place to site my old ReadyNas NV box which runs Squeezecenter and feeds my TP ( or whatever it's called now ) which is necessary because of noise ( don't know if it's the fan or the drives ) I've just tried siting it under the stairs but I can still here it in the lounge. So I'm thinking it might be time to say goodbye to the old girl and buy something else. Anyone know of a reasonable priced quiet device that runs SC well ? preferably running Linux. many thanks pkfox's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5346 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=95477 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles

[SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Using TP wireless and wired ethernet
Hi all, is it possible to have my TP connect to my NAS ( which has all my music on and slimserver running ) via CAT5 and the internet via wireless ? - I've just moved house and at the moment the only way I can connect the NAS is by plugging it into the TP directly which I've tried but it doesn't work - "can't connect to server" is the error message. [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Meridian CD player
Hi All, I know I shouldn't really ask this question here but the wealth of knowledge here is the best I've come across - My trusty 506 CD Player has starting behaving badly - sometimes it wont play at all, other times it jumps or sticks - basically it is unusable - Meridian can't help as the player is now obsolete and they don't have any parts, So , can anyone recommend a lens cleaner that they have used ? - I don't want to ruin it by using a crap one - any other recommendations welcome - again apologies for posting here but I can't think of anywhere else that I trust. I use my TP as the main music source but my wife still prefers to use CD's. -- pkfox When the going gets weird - the weird turn pro.
