Re: [announce] Swing/AWT Donation Coming...
I don't think they videoed the sideshows, but JavaOne have made the slides that were submitted available on-line. Go to http://www.cplan.com/javaone2006/contentcatalog search on keyword "Harmony" (and make note of the username and password shown on that page). The presentation is available as it was originally submitted. Geir and I made some last minute changes that are not reflected there, but it is close enough. Feel free to ask any questions about the presentation. Regards, Tim Stefano Mazzocchi wrote: > Oliver Deakin wrote: >> Great news! Great news! Thanks Intel, and well done to Geir and Tim for getting this together for JavaOne! Tim Ellison wrote: Way to go Intel! The formal contribution is on it's way, and I don't wish to steal any more thunder from the contribution when it's made, but we (Intel hat on here..) wasn't able to make the donation in time for the talk today because of internal process loose ends, and I wanted to make a splash for us at JavaOne. I expect it will be here in the next couple of days. I just write things like CTRL+SPACE+TAB+SHIFT+X+_+G+T and code comes out). > I expect it will be here in the next couple of days. Kewl. What I *really* want to know is how this'll be tested. Word out on the street is that automated compatibility on a UI level has never really been attempted for anything as complex as swing. Today during our JavaOne talk (given by Tim and I) I was proud to demonstrate JEdit running on Harmony! That's right, with Swing/AWT code.
