In those situations you can set up your processors to hold in formalin until the time limit is reached and then switch to 70% Sample comes in on Friday. Place it in formalin (on the processor) until the 48 hours have been reached most likely Sunday afternoon, then switch to an extended 70% alcohol, then continue to process so your cassettes will come off on Monday morning. It might mean that you have a 6-8 hour 70% step, but it should be ok. OF COURSE, run some test tissues first to make sure.
