Re: Problem with lyrics with repeat [lilypond 2.13.63]
Quoting -Eluze from ml.lilypond.users: :i can't see which version you're using but the the docs about repeated :voices are being rebuilt! It was in the subject (2.13.63)... :the trick that works is to define the lyrics' placement with a \new Lyrics = :"â¦" statement and to refer them later. you're sample score would then look :like: : :the 2nd staff and its lyrics can be placed the same way, but since the :default is below the staff it does not really matter. Great, it's now working as I wanted. I was surprised because the old setup (template) I had for vocal music, which was written for 2.10, stopped working properly with 2.13.63 and the doc was obviously incomplete! Problem with lyrics with repeat [lilypond 2.13.63]
Hello, I'm having problems formatting lyrics on a repeat section. I've extended the snippet from the documentation to add 2 voices to the chorus, and the lyrics for the second stanza are moved at the bottom of the group. Vertically, I have: Soprano staff Lyrics for soprano #1 Alto staff Lyrics for alto #1 Lyrics for soprano #2 Lyrics for alto #2 I'd thought it would come up as: Soprano staff Lyrics for soprano #1 Lyrics for soprano #2 Alto staff Lyrics for alto #1 Lyrics for alto #2 in the repeated section. Here's the modified snippet. How should I change the example to get the above layout? \score { \new ChoirStaff << \new Staff { \new Voice = "melody" { \relative c'' { a4 a a a \repeat volta 2 { b4 b b b } } } } \new Lyrics \lyricsto "melody" { Not re -- peat -- ed. << { The first time words. } \new Lyrics { \set associatedVoice = "melody" Sec -- ond time words#one. } >> } \new Staff { \new Voice = "melody2" { \relative c'' { a4 a a a \repeat volta 2 { b4 b b b } } } } \new Lyrics \lyricsto "melody2" { Not re -- peat -- ed. << { The first time words. } \new Lyrics { \set associatedVoice = "melody2" Sec -- ond time words#two. } >> } >> } Thanks, Raphael ___ lilypond-user mailing list lilypond-user@gnu.org https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/lilypond-user

Thanks Mats -- I'm still using 2.6.3, waiting for Debian unstable to have 2.8.x packaged so that I can install it cleanly using the packaging system. How to tune space between key signature and first note?
Hello, I have a score in A minor (blank key signature) but with a part for a clarinet in B flat, so there is a key signature in B minor for its part (2 sharps). The problem stems from the fact that the notes on the Clarinet parts are too close to the key signature, whereas of course other parts have ample room between the clef and the first note since there is no signature. How can I add a constant offset between the emission of the key signature and the first note on a staff? Quoting jutta <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> from ml.lilypond.users: :Hi, :I would like to "switch" the figures 3 above the triplets "off", but only from :the second measure on. Is there anybody who can just mal me the code? I'm using (in lilypond 2.6.3): \set Voice.tupletNumberFormatFunction = #'() to remove the tuplet indication after the first measure. Just put this instruction after the notes of the first bar and you're done. Raphael ___ lilypond-user mailing list lilypond-user@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/lilypond-user

Quoting Erik Sandberg <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> from ml.lilypond.users: :Look for "MIDI rewrite" here: :http://lilypond-design.com/sponsor/open-features.html Sounds (sic!) really interesting. Why aren't repeats unfolded automatically in MIDI?
What is the technical reason for repeats to not be automatically "played" (i.e. unfolded) as many times as necessary in the MIDI output? The "\unfoldRepeats" is a crude hack, and I fail to see the justification behind this feature. Surely, lilypond knows how to iterate over repeats to be able to process "\unfoldRepeats" so surely it should not have any problem generating correct MIDI output without this directive. Why isn't this behaviour "fixed" to behave normally, i.e have MIDI output reflect the music as written? Raphael P.S: Why aren't pralls, trills, arpeggios not automatically realized during MIDI output? When playing baroque music, the lack of realization of those ornaments really changes the way it sounds. And typesetting the realization in the score is cumbersome and messes the visual quality of the score. ___ lilypond-user mailing list lilypond-user@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/lilypond-user
Re: 2 conversion problems 2.4.6->2.6.3
Quoting Gilles <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> from ml.lilypond.users: :For Linux: "gucharmap" Yes, but since lilypond does not understand the Unicode escape syntax (e.g. \u2014 for EM DASH) produced by gucharmap, this is rather useless. Escape sequence for accentuated characters?
Hello, Does anyone know of an escape sequence enabling the composition of accentuated characters? My system is a non-UTF8 system (ISO-latin-1) and I don't have any way to type an UTF-8 character in my xterms. I can type iso-latin-1, but apparently this is not understood by 2.6.3, whereaas it worked correctly in 2.4.5. So, what's the way to type pure ASCII accentuated letters in lilypond?
