Re: [newbie] Uninstall/Reinstall Mandrake7.0
Marcyes, the one marked 'premier issue' had a Mandrake 6.0 CD bundled with it, I'll call it issue 1. The May/June issue had 2 CD's bundled with it, Storm 2000 and Mandrake 7.0. that'd be issue 2. Then there was the June/July issue which had the utilities/demos/apps CD and would be issue 3. So the next one would be issue 4 and have a Mandrake 7.1 CD included. I believe you are saying the same thing differently. :-) Alan Marc wrote: > > I did not know it was the forth issue! I thought it was the third. The > beta, first and now the second. Re: [newbie] Uninstall/Reinstall Mandrake7.0
Marcyou're welcome. Wow, that'll be the 3rd Linux Mandrake distro (6.0 & 7.0 so far) that Maximum Linux has included with their Magazine, and that'll only be the 4th issue of Maximum Linux. I have a subscription as well, and sadly for me, it'll be the 3rd version of Linux Mandrake that I already have a copy of when I receive the one included in the magazine! C'est la vie! Re: [newbie] Uninstall/Reinstall Mandrake7.0
Thank you Alan! I will do that. I just got done talking to Bryan Del Rizzo chief editor at www.maximumlinux.com and asked him to include Mandrake7.1 in the next issue and he said he would do it! Re: [newbie] Uninstall/Reinstall Mandrake7.0
Marcthere's no need to uninstall. When you're reinstalling, the installation will re-format your partitions. There will be nothing left of the original install unless you request not to format one or more of your partitions. I understand the feeling, but really, re-installing seems to be the first choice instead of the last. If you have Linux up and running, you have Linux up and running. Most anything can be fixed on a running system. A little reading, a little editing, maybe uninstalling and re-installing a package or two and you are back to normal and smarter for it all. I have been in what seemed to hopeless, desperate situations before on my system, and have bounced backand nothing compares to the feeling of accomplisment that comes from doing it yourself. [newbie] Uninstall/Reinstall Mandrake7.0
I want to uninstall Mandrake7.0 since I now have more experiance installing it and configuring it. I did alot of things I did not wanna do during the install. If someone could please advise me on this I would thank them alot. I could not find any papers on this process. I am guessing it to be easy.
