Re: [TMIC] Hi all--I'm back again
Thanks Amanda. I am always in a quandary about what to do in situations like this. I don't want to go to the hospital. Stupid, huh? I'm sorry you have TM. How are you doing now? I had a TM attack in 1997 and found this group. I rejoined several years ago and after a few months forgot how to get into the group! lol So now I've subscribed once again. I have never been without symptoms since the TM attack in 97. In that attack in just a few hours I became numb on the left side from just below the breast to my toes. It was like a line had been drawn down the middle of me and everything was totally numb on the left from that level down. I lost bladder control, too. I was later dxed with MS in 1998. Among other symptoms, I have been numb since the TM attack in different parts of my body and I have never been without some degree of numbness. For the past 3 weeks I've been abnormally numb. It is very much like the TM attack in 97 except I haven't lost bladder control and this time the severe numbness is on the right side. It started under my right breast, moving under my arm, around my back Now the numbness is all the way to my toes, except part of my hip. I did call my neuro and he asked if I thought I was in the middle of a MS flare. At the time I said no because I feel fine. Now I'm wondering if I made a mistake. Could this be a TM thing? What do you all think? glad to be back Sharon Marsden

Thanks Grace. I've been away from the TM community too long. No MRI has shown any lesions on my spine but my neuro told me he still thought I had a hidden spinal lesion. Hi Amanda, I can type with my thumb and I sometimes use a voice recognition program called Dragon-Naturally Speaking.? I went to JH and saw Dr. Kerr about?6 months after I had the attack.? He prescribed neurontin for me which helped the tingling and burning in my legs and the banding.? I really liked him; he was very compassionate and helpful.? I changed to lyrica when it came out. Re: [TMIC] Re: tmic-digest Digest V2008 #332
I was struck at C4-C6 in 2003. My arm and hand were the first to give out during the day that TM was working at paralyzing me. I regained use of both hands, but not all of my fingers and didn't require help for my personal care. I remember the excitement of being able to move the tip of my thumb in my otherwise clenched fist, because I knew this meant there was hope in that tiny bit of movement. We each have different levels of healing depending on many variables. Work hard in therapy, then rest and sleep to help your body heal and never give up hope for continued healing. You might be the person who gets it all back. Hello to all you out there. P-pray Uuntil Ssomething Hhappens I need this back... If you'll do this for me... I'll do it for you.. When there is nothing left but God, that is when you find out that God is all you need. Take 60 seconds and give this a shot! All you do is simply say the following small prayer for the person who sent you this. Father, God bless all my friends and loved ones in whatever it is that You know they may be needing this day! And may their life be full of your peace, prosperity and power as he/she seeks to have a closer relationship with you. Amen. Then send it on to five other people. Within hours you caused a multitude of people to pray for other people. Then sit back and watch the power of God work in your life. P. S. Five is good, but more is better. When Jesus died on the cross, he was thinking of you! If you are one of the 7% who will stand up for him, forward this with the title 7%. 93% of people won't forward this. <><><><><><><>
