I don't know if I would really agree with you here. The software writers
must write the software to be usable on several different windows platforms
(98, ME, and 2000) and have no clue what is on each individuals computer.
It would take a looong time to test all the possible configurations
that. I'm very happy with with the scanner otherwise.
Accurate color, sharp images, no color corrections, it's a keeper.
P.S. I have not had any computer lockups bad enough to cause a reboot. I
have had to uninstall and re-install once or twice though.

idea how to configure their browsers to enable or disable the function of
Java scripts. Besides, a nice note letting them know that the images cannot
be viewed without enabling Java in their browser is helpful.

The real problem with this is that if someone wants the image, they will get
it no matter how much security is taken. My thinking is that if I make it
time intensive enough for the hacker to restore the image to the original, I
have won. It is always easier to breach security than to enforce it.
