I own a 5000A with ATU and second receiver; and I refuse to sell it and take a bath. I would be more than willing to pay for major PowerSDR upgrades. I want to purchase a new radio, but I doubt it will be a Flex because how do I know that after I shell out $7500 (need the 6700 for two identica

I have to agree. I'd also be interested in purchasing updates to PowerSDR if they were available. Paul Delaney - K6HR http://k6hr.dyndns.org:8080 -Original Message- From: FlexRadio [mailto:flexradio-boun...@flex-radio.biz] On Behalf Of Mark Lunday Sent: Sunday, March 01, 2015 8:56

Why not charge for PowerSDR updates, like SmartSDR? I have gotten a lot of free updates since I purchased my first Flex radio about 6 years ago, and I am happy for that. But if future updates require a payment to Flex to keep the code updated, I would certainly consider it. The software is more

I dont think there is an issue with old computers (I will continue to test, configure, build and support these radios for as long as anyone will tolerate me!) I think the way forward would be for Flex to "contribute" their proprietary parts of PowerSDR back to the Open Source license and let it me

Wishful thinking. These radio's are being treated like old computers. And new software written for old computers is virtually nil. And according to Gerald they had only scratched the surface of what the 5000 could do. Without new software all bets are off. Eddie from the BronxAB2VW > To: flex

What might perk up interest in buying a used Flex 5000 or 3000 would be if Flex released a new version of PowerSDR. The last version, 2.7.2, was issued almost a year ago (March/April 2014). Potential buyers might be swayed positively if they saw that the software was still being updated even if for

Here's my $0.02 from someone who's trying to sell a plain vanilla 5000a at the moment. I've been studying values of all the 5000 models as of late pretty closely. The last 3 5000a with 2nd RX, tuner and V/U that I saw on QTH went for around $2300. A big difference than 6-8 months ago when they

That's the beauty of a free market system. Some like it (buyers), some don't (sellers). Wait a couple of months are post it again, someone may yet have the urge. The 5000A the previous gentlemen wrote about seemed to be a reasonable buy at the $1,500 level. 73, Dick, W1KSZ On 3/1/2015 12:05
