You absolutely correct about the Roho cushion.  To overcome that problem, you just have to live chair butt a little higher instead of sliding.  I also slide into an electric wheelchair.  Without obstruction from the armrests I can slide right in without having to angle the chair.   T. Housto

I have a full size craftmatic bed that goes up and down and so do the head and knees. On top of that I have a ROHO mattress for my half of the bed and Pete has a full size foam egg crate folded in half so we are at the same level.

I see there has been talk of mattresses. I might be needing one soon, and I hope a new bed too. I tried a few air motion mattresses, but found them noisy and uncomfortable. I have always just used a 6in foam pad, with a 18x18in square cut out of the butt area, with a jell pad put in there.

I am able to transfer from bed to chair using a slideboard, when I go from chair to bed I am able to lift my legs using custom made leg straps. I always have someone spotting me,so most of the time I don't bother. Practice makes perfict:)

Even with the Botox, muscle  relaxers,  neurotin, and others I still have muscle spasms.  They are worse after I have been up in my chair all day and I am getting back in my bed.  I always take meds before getting back in bed because I know when I start being turned the spasms will begin.  L
