Summer of Blood

A1 Discord - Surgeon mix
A2 No Fried Eggs
B1 Unwanted - Ben Simms Hardgroove Mix
B2 Sumer of Blood - Ben Simms Final Filter Mix

Pure Plastic 024

Wow, Quality minimal groovers in the Ben Simms and recent Surgeon style,
These 'DJ Tools' Won't be coming of ya decks for a while!

I wasn't that keen on the second Surgeon track to be honest, but the second
Ben Simms track more than made up for it!

If your into the Lost/Purpose Maker feeling, these are for you!

(313) C'line- FIG - Read this one not that one

1999-09-05 Thread T TL

Chorusline EP

Side 1 - Dan March - Ibneon
Side 2 - Tommy Gillard - Rogue Beat
  - Max Duley - Dementia
Side 3 - A Mclauchlan - Love Story
Side 4 - Rob Alcock - Plexus
  - Oliver Ho - The Serpent

FIG 004

More of LP than an EP.

This has got to go down as possibly one of the best collective compilations
this year in fact since the Sonic Mind ' Collective Consciousness' (SM 010).
I think their all British producers, but with the majority of their record
collection from Detroit!

Ah man, the tracks are great! a couple of minimal groovers, but the rest are
wicked! My fav. has to be A MClauchlan's Love Story.
The whole compilation gives of that very distinct
Theory/Blueprint/D.Tension/Mills feel!

If these guy's are who they say they are, then watch out for some top
releases from the above names!

Re: (313) Isolee - Beau mot plage.... the best sound for ages....

1999-09-05 Thread Selway212
almost all of Isolee's releases are on a German label called Playhouse. One
of the better minimal/techno/house labels around, IMHO

The orginial version is hands down one the best records I've ever heard.

I was a bit dissapointed with the re-edit, while it is easier for the regular
dancefloor house dj to deal with, it butchers the arrangement, lacks the
subtle beauty of the original and even leaves out some of the best parts.

The DJ Q mix is pretty standard, I suppose. Mills sample is a cop out and
not even in the same key as the Beau mot plage samples. DJ Q, actually, is
fairly well known in deep house circles.

It shouldn't be to hard to find the original, and other Isolee releases, at
mail order sites such as www.satelliterecords.com or Hardwax or something
like that.

(313) Isolee - Beau mot plage.... the best sound for ages....

1999-09-05 Thread T TL

At the risk of pos. non 313..

Isolee - 'Beau mot plage'
Side A) Beau mot plage, Heaven & Earth re-edit
Side B) Beau mot plage, DJ Q Remix

Classic - playhouse

Holy shit. that's all I can say! And, the original, where's that ?

I don't know how much the re-edit sounds like the original, but, I have to
say this is probably one, if not the best pieces of "techno" so far this
year! the chord changes, the strings, the filtering, fucking brilliant!

'Big up' Rob Mello & Luke Soloman (Heaven&Earth) who Are, they???

Side B offers an equally good track, but with a 'Mills' feel, to say the
least! Again another great track, more of a pumping dance groove than Side
A. It's just a shame he had to blatantly bring in the Mills sample at the
end, If it wasn't for that some might not have noticed!

DJ Q, Who?

finally who is Rajko Muller, Have I heard his stuff before, or will we here
it agian

Quality Techno, We're here for a reason!

(313) OT:G3/USB/Cubase headache!

1999-09-05 Thread markus
Has anybody had any success using their new blew-G3 mac+ usb midi interface
and Cubase 4.1? Specifically the Motu midi express XT. I can't get Cubase
to recognize any midi what so ever. Motu recognizes midi i/o but cubase
does not. We're running Free Midi in the background which also recognised
midi. Both Steinberg and Motu's website are of no help.

Appologies for the OT question but we're getting desparate to make some
techno...

Thanks in advance.
