Logistic will release a 12" of Rob Hood. It's called "Monobox EP". It will be LOG025. Logistic and Telegraf changed their distribution and are now worldwide exclusively (without France) at Neuton. >Ryan Burns: theres a old tresor record ive never heard. its When I Dream >Renee feat. Taj, Blake Baxter. >i love most of the records blake has on tresor. except sex tech. can >anyone coment on this. 'When I Dream' first appeared on a comp entitled something like '313 etc' out on Tresor in 1995, which was compiled by Mr Baxter. He produced or mixed a lot of the tracks in the collection. I think he mixed the one in question. Renee produced it, Taj did vox. What happened to these two talented women I wonder? The comp featured tracks by Scan 7, Taj, Tom Derek, Baxter himself, Santonio and confusingly, someone called 'Santone' who's track to all intents and purposes sounded like Santonio's ... anyway ... 'When I Dream's grungy production, full vocalised song and minimalism made it one of the stand out tracks for me ... it's sheer dirtiness (meaning aurally) meant it took a while for me to really apppreciate it as I just dismissed it as badly mastered initially. I find a lot of BB's productions are in fact deliberately but effectively lo-fi. This is something which I don't think he gets much credit for, but then, his work does display glaring weaknesses at times. I unlike Ryan, am quite into his 'sex-tech' stuff. It doesn't get derogatory (as far as I've ever heard). I have a track which never made it on to a proper release out of Berlin, called 'Outside And In' the sheer dirtiness (meaning er, dirty) of which is almost physical. But there's no swearing, no overt moaning and groaning. Just what sounds like a sample from a 1930's jazz 45, very hard kick and lots of atmosphere. 'When I Dream' appears to be on re-release from Tresor right now, which is why presume Ryan asks. >-Original Message- >From: ryan burns [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] >Sent: Wednesday, July 10, 2002 5:35 AM >To: 313@hyperreal.org >Subject: [313] blake baxter > > > >theres a old tresor record ive never heard. its When I Dream >Renee feat.
