  hi folks.  can anyone identify the source of the vocal samples in mike
grant's, "my soul, my spirit" track?  i've always enjoyed his use of
"uplifting" snippets of speech...  i.e. maya angelou in, "the struggle of my
people".

I don't know anything about him being a former a boxing trainer

anyway I also didn't know this 12" was produced by Carl and Derrick

I remember a mix by Norm Talley had a track that had sort of the above, went
like "Here comes the sun, here comes the light, here comes the day..." which
I asked on 313 to ID & Norm told me (if I can remember) that it's a track by
Todd Terry? I must say tho, that there were 3 tracks I asked about, so I
could have it mixed up, but I'm pretty sure it's TT.

i'm about as nostalgic as they come--i think it all went downhill after nu
groove folded and i don't think dance music sounds right if it it wasn't
recorded onto a four track.
the problem with the recent three chairs is that it's not nostalgic enough.
it sounds too modern for me--it sounds like tech-house.
but, i've not had a proper listen, because i literally can't play the
record. when i couldn't play the first record, i bought another one hoping
for a better pressing. neither is playable and they cost me $21 each.

The tracks that he played off of this @ ATP were bloody brilliant. I've
never agreed with SPW more. Wicked! Warp and LFO both getting back to what
they do best. Or atleast, I wanted to run around naked after Mark Bell's set
@ Camber Sands. I can't wait to do so for real.
