sorry, that's not meant to imply that Submerge is behind these Buzz
bootlegs
what I meant was maybe someone with some kind of connection to the former
Buzz label is behind it
or something like that...

So has anyone spoken out publicly about these bootlegs? I mean I would
assume that Derrick would be fuming because they're using his
Transmat logo without permission (or are they?). If it's done without the
artist's permission, whoever is producing these should pray they don't get
caught - copyright and trademark infringements, publishing infringements,
licensing infringements...
they better take all the money they're making off of these and sock it away
because if they get busted that's going to be one hell of a lawsuit.

I still don't get why Submerge is selling them unless it's an inside job

According to www.rushhour.nl:

Collector's alert!! Next up in the series of Buzz 'represses' comes this
promo-version of Yennek (aka Kenny Larkin), with the Innerzone Orchestra
(aka Carl Craig) remix of Serena X. Already a floorfiller at time, growing
to a real classic jam afterwards. Other two tracks come by Biotic,
represting two of some very first tracks by Dan Curtin. Classic Detroit
techno material!! Tip!

I haven't heard this one and I can't find any samples, is it good? And

Yo.

This is the new BITA. The A side does nothing for me really, but the B side
is cool. The mood reminds me a bit of the Pavel Kostiuk stuff, but with
slightly more straight-forward beats. Really nice chords and stuff. A pretty
original feel, when a lot of broken beat stuff today can sound a bit same-y.

I didn't pick up Rebound yet but plan on it. Personally, I thought this one
sounded better, but they both sound excellent to me!

I think I would've agreed at first, but 911 hasn't been doing quite as much
for me as the B side to Love Letter on repeat listens, although I dig both
of them as well!

Basically I'm just looking for some music which isn't the typical rap, hip-hop, and top 40 club fare.  Other than that I'm not too picky.  I figure the only way to know if you like an artist is to hear him/her in person...   On the road to retirement? RE: (313) Subject Detroit previews

2004-09-29 Thread Stoddard, Kamal
yeh don't get me wrong they're both super dope. I wrote that last message as
the second track was coming in. that release is my favorite from bone so far.
having given the rest a listen, I'm not as keen on the dj lohie (who is he?) as
i am on the two bone releases, but it still kills 98% of recent techno activity
imo. but that's just me.

...soo edits? what edits?

i would rate the 911 can i help you track above everything matt
jonson has done so far except the cobblestone jazz record. i did a
megamix of matt jonson tracks at the beginning of this mixtape i
literally just finished making for my car.

here's a chart for me, even though its mostly old stuff ive been
picking up here and there:

1. Shawn Rudiman - Synthesexual LP vinyl version parts 1 and 2 -
Technoir Audio
2. Buffalo Bunch - "Buffalo Beats" - Scratche
3. Irfane - "Just A Little Lovin" - No Label
4. Shake - Shake's Track Mode EP - Track Mode
5. Moodymann - "Tribute!" - KDJ
6. Henrik Schwarz / Morten Cargo & At Ease - "Jimi's / Farewell
Casualt" - Diamonds & Pearls
7. Mathew Jonson & The Mole - Moss Rocks EP - Arbutus
8. Trankilou - Escalope De Dingue EP -Kif
9. Hardrive - EP - Strictly Rhythm
10. Theo Parrish - Ugly Edits 7 - White Label

(313) Quando Quango - Love Tempo sampled by?

2004-09-29 Thread Michael . Elliot-Knight
listening to the original I was trying to figure out who covered this but
then I realized I heard it in a DJ mix I think by Carl Craig (?)
took the horn section hook, sped up a bit, and looped - then took the vocal
bit:

party motion/party time/come on girl/please be mine
party motion/party time/come on girl/make up your mind

who did the track that sampled it?
