Re: (313) using gmail for 313
I am using gmail for 313 and it seems to be just fine. I set up the account with no problem, but could not initially send to the list. Another 313 subscriber pointed out the HTML vs. Text Email issue and that fixed the problem (which was just a fault of my own). I guess that doesn't really help you all that much, but thought I would share my scenario. It is possible to use gmail though! Good luck! ps - one weird thing is that the account I previously used for 313 still receives the odd piece of email from the list, just 1 email every once in a while...strange. Re: (313) Silly ideas/Stevie Wonder
I'm sure it was discusses already but since I probably missed it - Stevie Wonder's new album is great. "If Your Love Cannot Be Moved" is the type of tune I've been waiting for. Serious lyrics - socially, politically, and spiritually moving. Anyone know if this was released as a single? It's the type of tune that will get the heads and bods at our House Nation nights moving. I can't remember what it was for as he has already recorded an 'apple track' for Plat Du Jour and this is what is on the track as mentioned on the Plat Du Jour Site: "AN APPLE A DAY... the sounds of around 3255 people eating an apple. 65 individual people eating an apple on apple day 2004 crunchers at sonar festival, barcelona, babylon, istanbul for two nights, in montreal, the pompidou centre in paris, and in london at the queen elizabeth hall. all apples were local varieties, in season ( apart from montreal where they were from cold storage) and organic. the uk has over 2000 varieties of apple, but supermarkets prefer to import theirs from america, south africa and new zealand." http://www.platdujour.co.uk/ -Original Message- From: /0 [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 17 November 2005 18:50 To: Robert Taylor Cc: Anya K Stang; 313 Subject: RE: (313) Help Matthew Herbert I certainly hope he uses more than just these sounds, it would suck to make a track limited to ~8k of midrange freq -Joe Robert Taylor <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > He recorded us crunching apples at his last show - nice apples too! > > -Original Message- > From: Anya K Stang [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: 16 November 2005 20:09 > To: 313 > Subject: Re: (313) Help Matthew Herbert > > > Didn't he do something similar for Bodily Functions? > I seem to remember that Jeff was credited for slapping his thigh I > believe... > > On 16 Nov 2005, at 10:00, Robert Taylor wrote: > > > Excellent - I'm going to have some fun with this > > > > -Original Message- > > From: Tosh Cooey [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Sent: 16 November 2005 01:07 > > To: 313@hyperreal.org; [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Subject: (313) Help Matthew Herbert > > > > > > Here's a press release I just got about the new Herbert album: > > > > > > Dear All, > > > > You are about to be given the opportunity for assisting Matthew > > Herbert with his > > latest album – due for release next year. i'm also on the forum as bonusbeats, that's me driving around in the banana splits' mobile. you're not the only techno head among the balaearic, prog rock bearded types. i always feel a little out of place on any list or forum. on 313 i want to talk more 312, 212 and walter gibbons. on djhistory i can talk about walter gibbons, but most of the talk is about supertramp and fleetwood mac. and on the old skool list on discogs when someone asked about favourite piano tunes i mentioned ce ce rogers 'someday' while eveyone else compiled long lists of uk breakbeat hardcore...you know the score. always the round peg in the square hole. james www.jbucknell.com "Thomas D.
