(313) Musicology 12"s
Someone was asking about these...they're nice, clean, good sounding presses and look a lot like the originals with the etching in the runout grooves scratched out. Same label faces as appear at Discogs. Black vinyl. Thus far I've seen/have B1201, 04 & 06. jeff
RE: (313) Parliament/Funkadelic One Nation Under a Groove on PBS
On a side note, keep an eye out for the film, Stranger: Bernie Worrell on Earth. It is still doing the film festival rounds so am unsure on a date for a dvd release. Well worth watching though. Juan Atkins stopped playing guitar and started playing with keyboards after he saw what Bernie was doing with Parliament/Funkadelic. :) prize. (313) got time to vote on a ghettotech track battle?
Hey guys, if you've got some time to kill (probably takes about 40 minutes to listen and vote), there's a big track battle going on over at ghettotech.de, hosted by Guy of the Non-Stop DJs, and we could use some more votes: http://www.ghettotech.de/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=2766&start=54 There are some pretty awful tracks in there, but a few solid ones, and the worst ones are at least fun to cringe at anyway. You can also download the sample pack, to get an idea of what we had to work with. I can't tell you which one is mine. If you figure it out, please keep it on the down-low, since the contest is supposed to be anonymous. -bp

(313) Beat down
The Beatdown tour stopped off in London on Sat and I must say that I haven't had so much fun in a club for ages, the music was wicked and all 3 of them, Mike Clark, Norm Tally and Delano Smith can really rock a dance floor. And to top it off Carl Craig and Recloose were playing down stairs. If you get the chance to see this beat down tour, do it.. Paul

Been searching online for the cheapest price for a pair of these. So far it's been from www.djdeals.com but their privacy policy can go s*ck it. Basically they reserve the right to share your personal info with anyone and there is no opt-out. However, they are selling them for $35.00 each I just need the tips - not the whole thing and that was the lowest I've found in the US. I'd prefer to find some place that doesn't charge for shipping too. Pretty much all the other prices are around $41 to 49.00 I'd suggest sticking with who you know as well. I recall Brelson saying he's received used styli when ordering them budget in the past. Better off ordering them from a reputable source. Which Ortofon are you trying to get? I always used to use http://www.pssl.com but the prices for the yellow ones are around $60. Tristan === [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.phonopsia.co.uk

All worried about the legitimacy of the site with the lowest price. And then I do the math and realize that it's not worth 6-8$ to worry about it, and go with the place I trust. Just an idea. I mean, I like to save money, but there's a point at which, for cheap items especially, the difference between the rock bottom and the middle of the pack is trivial. Incidentally, there's one on Amazon for $35, from a seller with 80% positive feedback. Wants $6 for shipping though. -bp
