Whoa despite checking that Theo 12 (and not buying it - as usual heheheh, no flaming pur-lease) I didn't realise this. This is odd as the track off 11 Phases is a favourite of mine. Just checking a clip of it now ...pause actually there's not that much resemblance is there? Glad about that as it (the 11 Phases one) is something I play out often and excites comment. i bought this one last week in martin buttrich / craig / ame kinda style http://music.rushhour.nl/store_detailed.php?item=39083 [EMAIL PROTECTED] schreef: Anyone else? robin... My most recent purchases: Shuya Okino - United Legends Two (Especial) http://www.discogs.com/release/922514 Full on and really gorgeous vocal house w/singing duties going to Josh Milan, Diviniti, Nicky Guiland, Courtney Dennie, and Vikter Duplaix. Remixes by Phil Asher, Seiji, DJ Kawasaki, Da Lata, and Mark de Clive-Lowe. Bought it in preparation for summer. A great EP for the Body & Soul and Co-Op floors. I really like the Phil Asher and DJ Kawasaki remixes. Mark de Clive-Lowe's is downtempo track that just aches. I have to find a copy of United Legends One now. That one sold out fast. Dimensions6 - Living In The Sunshine (Arision) http://www.discogs.com/release/238150 Broken beats that have a nice balance of techy tweaky electronics and more straight forward house. The original has a nice disco bassline. Âme's mixes bring in the circuitry - the main mix is uptempo and the dub is more mid to downtempo. The second track on side two is perfect for building mood - full of ambient nature jungle sounds (birds, crickets, dubby effects), a constant kick drum thump, female vocal chants, a stripped down lead keyboard, and just a bit of building percussion. Daz-I-Kue - Rokstone (Soon Come) (Bittasweet) http://www.discogs.com/release/462945 A broken beat classic. Red Astaire on vocals, really nice samba style percussion, beautiful string arrangement, and a sinking bassline to move da butt. The Boulder Dub is toughened up but still retains elegance. The Bugz remix is typical Bugz goodness and there's an accapella track too. More accapellas please! Bellcrash - Full Of Music (Sunshine Enterprise) http://www.discogs.com/release/349814 Real dancefloor jazz breakbeats. Wicked stuff. Saxophones, B3 organs, bits of spoken word, and tons of energy. How anyone could stand still while this is playing is beyond me. Politik, The / I.N.T. - Dopeness Galore presents: "The Timeless Interpretations II" (Dopeness Galore) http://www.discogs.com/release/860403 All downtempo stuff. The Politik's (Bémbé Ségué & Mark De Clive-Lowe) "HIgh Priestess" is jazzy flute led hip-hop/soul with layered samples of either wooden or shell windchimes in the background. It's another summery track just waiting for open windows and the stereo cranked. I.N.T.'s track is one of those perfect twilight tunes - hip-hop beat with a dubbed out trumpet and vocals just repeating "What'cha gonna do?" Gerardo Frisina - Saeta (Schema) http://www.discogs.com/release/186049 Ooooh, Latin Latin Latin - looped piano, clavé, shakers, hand drums all sound like they were recorded in a school gymnasium (which doesn't sound like it would work but it does), then breaks in the full drum rhythm. And it just continues on from there. The part two on the flip starts with everything kicking in earlier - and the piano loop is added onto by a lead piano. Hmmm, nice. Various - Cool, Calm & Collective (4 Lux) http://www.discogs.com/release/280112 Usual 4 Lux stuff - broken beats, downtempo, one sort of tech-house tune that was the only dissappointment on an otherwise fine complilation. Another one in my attempt to fill in some releases of their discog. Cherie Mathieson / Cousin Cockroach - The Good Good 3 Sampler Vol. 2 (2000 Black) http://www.discogs.com/release/651657 It's 2000 Black - it's broken beat. Whaddya expect? Not a bad sampler. The Cousin Cockroach is basically a long DJ tool but a nice one. Cherie Mathieson's is the better track and includes both vocal and instrumental versions. These are some I'm waiting to get these from Rush Hour but they're being stupid with another list member's order that I went in on: New World Aquarium - Twenty (Delsin) Redshape - Alone on Mars? (Present Music) Paul's Machine - Visuals (Ourmachine Records) Also found a great deal of good used funk, soul & jazz records lately - the Dells, Ramsey Lewis, and Johnny "Guitar" Watson to name just a few MEK

RE: (313) Tunes
Ok, I will bite after all - mostly electro + 2 techno. Faceless Mind - Datacat (Strange Life Records) The Consumer - Solve The System (KONDI) -cold pristine electro; but they both need to get over 'Gesamkunstwerk'. In the meantime though, I like it. The Consumer is the more analogue-esque of the two - including, grid sequencing, by the sounds of it. Legowelt remix on the Faceless Mind EP. Boris Divider La Hora de Las Maquinas (LP) (Drivecom) -Needs to get over 'Simulationzeitalter' but in the meantime... Michael Forshaw - Blackpool Rock EP (SMB records) -Nuts in a Planet MU-type way, but not quite as fast. If you're not ready for the pipe & slippers yet, check. Silicone Scally - Bioroid (LP) (Satamile Records) -best I've heard from him for almost a decade... makes me want to go back and check the LP he had on the same label last year. Software, dense, dirty, deceptively unmelodic. But it grows... In Sync - Storm (Fortune8) -(Repress on his new label) Beautiful, gentle, simple, thoughtful, techno tracks. (A strange publishing scheme of red, clear and black vinyl in specific numbers, which I don't remember, but I think overall the prints are limited.) Redshape - Telefunk (Styrax Leaves) -Big, clean, clonky and monolithically sinister techno. It's the year 21**. Omar-S -111 (2x12") (FXHE Records) -Quite surprised how techy and genuinely minimal these are nowadays. Nice package. 'For the International DJ only' it says and in fact, yes, these are pretty 'toolish' and probably quite useful. Ken

Kevin Reynolds - Afrik - Todhchai (http://www.discogs.com/release/822073) Difficult to categorize this which is a good sign. The other side is good but Afrik is the track that kills it for me. Organic yet electronic with a nice chugging beatdown tempo. There's no way small clips can do justice to this. Brilliant. yeah this is the early leader for tune of the year for me. i love both sides, but think i prefer the "Anonymous Room At The Corridor Of Last Night" track a bit more. this is what techno/house/whatever should sound like in 07.. Sounds good Aardvarck : Cult Copy Remixes Part 1/2 (Rushhour Holland) -Another Dave recommendation, for the 2000 and One remix, which is fairly massive Oracy : Mind Dance (Mojuba Germany) -Another Dave tip Arne Weinberg / Ian Pooley /Sean Deason /As One : In Loving Memory 1:4 (Styrax Germany) -The Pooley, Deason and the second Weinberg track all sound pretty good from the clips David Hausdorf / Octal Industries /Redshape : 7th Bouquet (Styrax Leaves Germany) -Again, all three winners. Styrax is pretty much unstoppable at the moment Tristan === [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.phonopsia.co.uk

(313) Tunes
Some of the tunes I've picked up recently ('scuse the quick rubbish descriptions I'm more enthusiastic about the music than words :)): Kingpin Cartel - Ghetto - Innervisions (http://www.discogs.com/release/902558) On that secret weapons 12 of Ame and Dixons. Epic in a UR way but housey. Wicked. Brilliant. Manmadescience - Just tell me when - Philpot (http://www.discogs.com/release/790334) A looped up disco based tune like The Mole might do. Not ground breaking but I'm a sucker for long looped sustained strings. Frank Helby - Tuinstangboogie - Magnetron (http://www.discogs.com/release/917445) Super slow, nasty, heavy and funky. Title track the one. Soulphiction - Get to the Point! - Philpot (http://www.discogs.com/release/166604) Like Shake's 'Madman' but erm, different. Check it. The Philpot guys tread just the right side of the mnml line for me, this is another twist along that line. Trusme - Brown's - StilovefortheMusic (http://www.discogs.com/release/895435) More tracks heavily based on disco samples. All are winners. Good God being the closest to KDJ in style. The main Nard's track builds on some ace strings before settling into a C2 style. From Manchester too :) Dub in A Nutshell - You Never Know - Philpot (http://www.discogs.com/release/471762) Off a compilation but this is the standout for me. Paul St. Hilaire and Soulphiction. What more do I need to say. Lee Jones - There Comes a Time - Aus Music (http://www.discogs.com/release/906233) There's a Prins Thomas mix on here that a lot of people will pick this 12 up for which is slow and grinding (in a Radio Slave kinda way). The Original mix is a nice deep techno thing with alow tempo that shouldn't be overlooked. Anyone else? robin...
(313) BERLIN - clubs vs bars
Hi just wondering if there is anything decent going on in berlin on the 16/17th wkd in berlin. I see phonique is playing at the arena on the sat (worth seeing?). I doubt i will be able convince my friends (who all seem to be getting married!) to be able to go clubbing so if someone can recommend a good bar with some decent djs that would be great, any good listing (whats going on in berlin) would also be great have good weeks cheers Paul
