HMPF!! Do you always concede to the "more vocal majority"? Your design on the front of the shirt and Raul's design on the back would rock!! I could work a graphic sandwich like that all around town, even in clogs! I'm giddy at the thought of it! But alas, the "majority" has won out again. Guess I'll go back to lurking... Nicely done, but doesn't speak to me. The b-boy esthetic certainly is one of the underpinnings of techno, but I miss the futuristic aspect. Typography always carries a lot of layers of meanings :) Or maybe the 313@hyperreal.org in a futuristic style and then the tag ... how Detroit is *that* ?! fh -- mail forwarded, original message follows -- To: [EMAIL PROTECTED],[EMAIL PROTECTED] CC: [EMAIL PROTECTED],313@hyperreal.org From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: (313) 313 list T Shirts for DEMF? ideas Date: Thu, 28 Feb 2008 12:38:11 -0500 Okay, so someone said the more the merrier, so I'll post up a less technical looking (though a bit du jour I admit) option. It's a free font, my own script and a phrase that I think captures both the attitude and OT nature of the list at once (depending on whether you read it with or without the pause). Of course that's the artsy way of saying that I was laughing at the phrase in my head as I read the threads and thought, I should put that on a shirt. So I opened illustrator and there it is. http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/8854/313shirtcp9.jpg sure wish I could get JT to do a line drawing of like Kenny or mad mike to go on it. Yup. You're right. It looks a lot better without the x's. a lot better. Thanks. I like the fact that a lot of cool designs have surfaced and I'd like to say before this thread gets officially deaded, that I think this type of thing is great and should be continued (no matter the medium). Gives me a broader view of the listmembers and what else they're about. Thanks for playing. RE: (313) 313 list T Shirts for DEMF? ideas
I was placing the list addy square across the front chest, which should put the other text block under your left tit/teat/pec. I like the font, and probably won't change anything much unless something really makes stupidly obvious sense to me. The real reason I did this one, was because I saw too much thought going into the rest. So consequentially, I won't think much further than I've gone with it (plus I like it). If you have a change, feel free to hook it up though *cough*$tinki*cough*. It'd be interesting to see what comes back. I still wanna see Todd's though. Okay, so someone said the more the merrier, so I'll post up a less technical looking (though a bit du jour I admit) option. RE: (313) Jay Denham New Album
Aight. Sick. Jay. WOOT! Having full clips is the realness and in celebration of said realness and diskoB's willingness to keep it so, I give you my wholly unsolicited prelim-picks. Anyone else got any? >The truth = super dope housey workout. This'd get dropped all day. Plus it gets really layered towards the end. This is the equalizer. Meaning everybody will dance to this no matter what. You have no choice. >The long way = ultra groove at it's best and one of the more techno tracks on here to me. Really encompassing with a lot of space. I really love this. How the harder kick drops in with the subtlest of buildups and then that grating sound starts just as an accent. Sickkk. The face melter. >Germs = boom boom! Here's that clangalang. I love to hear jay in this mode. The drums remind me of that drummy track off the in sync album on frictional only a little more restrained and without the filters. The strings are exciting without being overdone too. Likey. >the world is a ghetto = dope downbeat (almost massive attacky beats with more soul). Period. In the ipod and beamed into my brain repeatedly to maintain atmosphere. Please. >electro static = really obvious name, but quality joint. I like where it gets minimal and throbs on without the strings. It starts to get deep. Shxt is bumping. >whispers = eeaasy now staaar. Those are my picks from first reaction. The rest don't really do much for me. I must say that I've been really NOT in the mood for many vocals (especially breathy/phone-sexy ones) lately so that may have something to do with it. I'm really excited to hear/own this on wax. If you're reading, Nice one senor Denham.
