Re: (313) blogs
I recently started a blog based on my dissertation research on Detroit electronic music. I'm primarily trying to document the history of the music in Detroit beyond the Belleville Three, DETROIT TECHNO story, and document the present state of house and techno in Detroit. I'm interviewing a lot of folks and going out to a lot of great parties and my blog is about all that. www.denisedjsdetroit.blogspot.com/ Maybe not quite what you were looking for, but I thought I'd post it anyway. I think it only took only 3 pages on that website before they tried to sell you something. BUY NOW!!! The exclusive membership card or whatever. I really think they should just cut to the chase and start doing infomercials. "And if you call in the next 30 minutes, we'll throw in your very own minimalique uniform to wear to the party! One size/color fits all." Some of the technology showcased at the event might actually be pretty damn cool, I just wish they would cut the theater down just a bit. Re: (313) Anyone heard the new Shawn Rudiman? Technoir?
Actually the T.H.D. will be digital only! Since I'm a music nerd I listen to just about everything that comes out on a weekly basis, and with the advent of new technologies, I can't say that the quality has increased, less quality control perhaps? That's just my observation. But vinyl isn't the flavor of the month, I've had to except that fact, the silver lining being that I can now snap up doubles on slept on titles for pennies on the dollar! I just have no interest in lugging my laptop to a gig and hoping no one walks off with it. Records are heavy so I guess that's an anti-theft deterrent built in;) jw On Thu, May 8, 2008 at 10:53 AM, Michael Pujos <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > jwan allen a écrit : >> >> Also, TNA will be entering the digital realm, while we all still rock >> the block gold, there's a rumour out there stating that some people >> are using .WAV files nowadays. Re: (313) Anyone heard the new Shawn Rudiman?
No, as much as I hate to admit it, redshizzle was right in posting that. Thou shalt not post personal email replies back to the list. Now, technically John didn't paste Shawn's private reply back to the list, but it's apparent to me that Shawn didn't message the list, John just posted his reply to Shawn directly to the list. My best guess is that Jwan forwarded the email to Shawn, OR Shawn is lurking, emailed John directly off-list, and John did something goofy in replying. Either way, like Kent said last week, thou shalt not post private mail back to the list. Not only is it technically illegal, it makes things confusing and makes you look like a dipwad. So, nice going John, you dipwad. ;) On Thu, May 8, 2008 at 5:51 AM, [EMAIL PROTECTED] <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Eh? > > I neither understand the post being commented on here (as John Dale seems to > be replying to a post by Shawn which I didn't see?) > > Nor the response > > Or are you thinking he got a mail directly off Shawn and then replied to the > list by mistake? > > > > -Original Message- > > From: /0 [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Sent: 08 May 2008 04:10 > > > > http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=how+to+use+email > > :p > > > > > > > - Original Message - > > From: "john dale" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > To: <313@hyperreal.org> > > > > > Hey Shawn! > > > > > > Nice to see you here in person! > > > People seem to agree on your live set! RE: (313) Walk a mile im my shoes
Surely allowable topics for this list are not that narrow? "This list was set up by myself to be a forum for the discussion of Detroit techno artists or artists directly influenced by Detroit techno artists." From the homepage. It also says: "just as the works of the original Detroiters has provided the framework on which much of techno music has been built upon so too should the stated purpose of the list serve as the basis for *broader discussion*" [I added the emphasis]. -Original Message- From: ralph gill [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, May 09, 2008 6:13 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; 313@hyperreal.org Subject: RE: (313) Walk a mile im my shoes Is it not a detroit afro-american orginal covered by an intellectual pop-group? -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, May 08, 2008 3:12 AM To: list 313 Subject: Re: (313) Walk a mile im my shoes whoops mistake he did a (my fave) remix vocals by Robert Owens still would call it house tough ralph gill schreef: > Is this techno? > Coldcut and someone else...is that detroit? > > No virus found in this outgoing message. > Checked by AVG. > Version: 7.5.524 / Virus Database: 269.23.10/1421 - Release Date: > 5/7/2008 > 5:23 PM > > > > > No virus found in this incoming message.
