Not sure if it would be your thing so much. He runs Dial, if that helps any.
He's really good live. 'Minimal' without being particularly minimal, and a
fair amount of good ambience thrown in. His melodies tend to be great. I
only have his Sten remix of Pantha du Prince's 'Butterly Girl', which is
pretty dope. It moves around really well.

Dear Editor of the magazine,

  Might I suggest for a much more...visually
interesting piece... traveling outside of Germany to
DJs elsewhere in the world.Barcelona, NY, San Fran,
Japan, Philly. Places where design mentality will
differ.King Britt vs. DJ Krush vs. Mix it up- DJs
with families, etc.Toys spread amongst the records
would make for an interesting visual. I'm surpised no
DJ was sarcastic enough to just take a picture of a
hotel room as their living room.

I actually don't know much about this stuff , but I
feel that just like the copy- IMHO photos should be a
little less redundant?

i dunno.

At least in Berlin (and maybe in the rest of Germany as well), all
landlords require the tenant to leave an apartment with plain white
walls when they move out. Most new tenants never bother to paint
anything else, so pretty much everyone has white walls - not just the DJs.

Interesting link Martijn.

But I agree with Gil here. These aren't proper living rooms (except
maybe Villalobos), and it brings me a question: Do these DJs actually
enjoy listenning to music? I mean, do they sit down with a warm and
tasty cup of coffee, turn on their sound systems, and enjoy a record?
It looks like they don't, there isn't (from the pictures seen) a nice
soundsystem (other than 2x MKII + studio monitors), neither a comfy
sofa nor armchair...

It would be nice to see livingrooms from ppl like Kirk DeGiorgio, Carl
Craig, etc, who look like music lovers in the first place.

These aren't living rooms! Most are living room spaces converted to a DJ's
studio. My turntables are integrated into our living room space in much the
same way that a piano was commonly a part of the living room, I'd like to
think at least :) I prefer to emphasize entertaining company rather than
everyone focusing on the DJ and his/her gear.
