Re: (313) Inner City live at a rave?

2013-06-23 Thread Jeff Davis
Although I couldn't find much definitive info, I did get all nostalgic
trolling through the mw-raves list archives. ASCII art was so pure!!

I think this was the party and I'm pretty sure it was in Chicago, but
cannot confirm

Any other OG's out there with the lowdown?

thanks,

Hmmm - not going to write it off yet but that remix is pretty guff -
given the extreme musicality of Kenny's Funkfaker album his
collaboration on an Inner City album could potentially be amazing but
not based on this remix!

Hope for better things from the rest of the album

cheers

break in 1996, written and produced in collaboration with another Detroit legend, namely
Kenny Larkin. The track marks a welcome return for a group that combined the tough,
futuristic grooves of the Detroit scene with the vocal energy of R&B and gospel and
helped to define the period in which house and techno moved from underground phenomena to top
10 material, paving the way for hundreds of dance hits to come. ‘Future’ is devastatingly
catchy and highly emotional, exhibiting all the soulful flavours and qualities you would

beautifully reworking the original into a techno infused monster with intoxicating staccato
vocals."

(313) Inner City green vinyl

2004-05-27 Thread Simon Hindle
So yesterday I was in the 2nd hand store and picked up a copy of
'Paradise' by Inner City, on Virgin/10 records.

The vinyl is green! I can't find a listing on Discogs for this - is it
rare? Does anyone else have a copy?

Mos Def (the actor playing the character of Michael) leaves his business
card

(often businesses have contests where they draw a business card from those

Re: (313) Inner City was re: Track Collectability??

2000-05-01 Thread Andrew Duke
Devon: You have a copy of:
Inner City--"Ain't Nobody Better" 12" (US Virgin)
Inner City is Detroit's Kevin Saunderson and Paris Grey.
The UK 10 release of this has less mixes, but the better
mixes, in my opinion, are on the domestic (for North
Americans) release. If you enjoy that track, I can recommend
the album from which it comes: Inner City--"Big Fun" LP (US
Virgin; titled "Paradise" for the UK version) and the other
singles from that album: "Big Fun", "Good Life", and "Do You
Love What You Feel". And if you buy the 12" for "Whatcha
Gonna Do With My Lovin'" (a later-released downtempo track), the
B-side of the 12" has "Big Fun" LP's "Set Your Body
Free" (remixed by Marc Kinchen). All of the abovementioned material
should be easy to obtain. Hope this helps. Andrew Duke
