It may be of interest to read the thread on detroitluv.com regarding some
techno enthusiasts that have actually contacted Kevin personally about
supporting the festival "grass roots" style.

here is the link:

If you or anyone you know could donate time and effort for promotion in
your city, or festival help at the time of the festival, please send an
email to the address provided in that link.

Goodmornin' folks,

We've got a statement from Kevin's camp about Movement telling the following:

"Kevin Saunderson submitted his proposal to produce the festival in September. It
was not until just recently we were told he was given the contract. We suggested benching
it for 05 because of the late date and re-grouping for 06 with ample time to prepare and
produce the festival properly. We were told that is not an option, and it is necessary to
produce it this year. With that in mind, we suggested being able to charge a nominal fee
for the festival, as at this late date, it is impossible to fund it otherwise. We are now
awaiting the city's response as to whether this is possible or not. As soon as we have an
answer, we will announce our plans one way or another."

--> Hehe, thanks Alex. Well, building... We're buying a casco, meaning it's
only the four walls and connections for water, gas and electricity. All the
rest is up to us, which is sorta scary, but also tremendously cool since you
can have everything the way you like it; within our tight budget that is. It's
gonna be tough on the financial front, but you get to a point in your life
where you have to make these sorts of decisions...

But to put things back on topic: I'd rather do the house than having to
organize Movement in such a short notice. The best of luck to Kevin, Barbara
and their team.

Wow.

You have to feel sorry for them. Submit something in September, get a reply

That sounds a bit out of order to me.
Best of luck to the festival organisers, and the people that help, if they
manage to pull something off it'd be a miracle.

Jesus, talk about getting thrown in at the deep-end, would have thought
this benefitted the city too.

Hey - and talking of mammoth tasks, I read on the link to the technotourist
site yesterday that John Osselar is building a house Blimey. I can't
even get my act together to buy one, let alone build one. Good luck with
that John. If you need any cheap bricks - I'm your man. Pound a piece to
you (for cash).
