Posting e-mail to the public (313) list that was privately sent only to
you is a violation of the rules of this list:

http://www.hyperreal.org/music/lists/313/

It's under #3, "Send List e-mail".

If you don't know, now you know.

good afternoon,

i think the problem Jared had was that your initial responses to his posts
were rather cryptic - cryptic to the point that i imagine no-one except
yourself really understood.

fair enough, he shouldn't be posting to the list that you're full of b.s.,
but at the same time he had already asked you to explain what you meant, and
all you did was reply with another cryptic one-liner. i think his
frustration got the better of him.

however, the main reason i've emailed you is to remind you that posting
private off-list emails to the list is v.poor netiquette and repeated
posting of private emails may result in your email address being barred from
the list by the list owner. this is clearly laid out in the rules and
regulations of the 313 list. i haven't a clue if you were previously aware
of this or not, so you certainly have the benefit of the doubt so far as i'm
concerned.

some of your posts make it clear you have an opinion on the music, so i hope
you'll be contributing positively to the list for some time to come.

Plain and simple, D is some of the best and most advant techno being
released right now. But Wv909, you can "keep it real" with your stagnant
"soulful" techno, that is some I am not interested in.

Can we also remember that when someone doesn't agree with us , it
in itself does not present an oppertunity to say hey youre full of sh*t
But conversely it offers up an oppertunity to explore these differences
via this electronic medium and hopefully learn something about
ourselves and humanity and this thing called Techno.

Those guys are all the next wave of Detroit, and deserve some serious
recognition on this list since they are the future-represent and show some
support. Check out www.paxahau.com , which is the same guys. You'll find
out more about some of them and hear some badass mix sets.

For those of you on the West Coast who are interested in seeing some "D"
artists live please check out the following upcoming events in San
Francisco.

from 10-about 8 am
It's at a downtown art gallery (shhh that's a secret)

2000-10-17 Thread dj revolver
it definitely has something to do with the minus crew. i listened to it on
saturday at record time. really nice, dark minimal, techno. would have
bought it but there were too many great records to chose from. looking into
the label - artist - etc.

howdy,

i've got few 12"s by this mystery label "D" - music is really innovative
and funky detroit techno, but i've never heard of the artists before and
there seems to be connection to hawtin & co, since "D" website is
http://d.m-nus.com/. website itself is annoingly slow flash stuff and
offers very little information about the label. anybody knows anything
about this label? some of the tracks really sound like hawtin just jammin
live...

Re: [313] the "D" label

2000-10-17 Thread Kevin Conrad
I picked up a D record after meeting the owner (Rexx
aka XXX) at Threads one day and checking out the
label. I liked it so I bought it. I think he writes
under a few of those names for a look of diversity.
He seemed pretty cool, down to earth. He's played out
at Metro before I think. I don't know the connection
with Hawtin though.
