RE: AW: (313) bands (indie rock)
TV on the Radio- absolutely inescribable mix of moody electronics and classic pop-rock. damn- that description didn't do it justice at all. also- the new cLOUDDEAD (although supposedly a hip-hop album) sounds more like Mercury Rev that Public Enemy On Wed, 18 Feb 2004, Sean Creen wrote: > I was a little disappointed by the Franz Ferdinand album, but maybe I need > to give it a few more listens. > > Other non-electronic bands/acts I've been listening to a lot recently: > > Black Keys, Fiery Furnaces, The Coral, Devendra Barnhart, British Sea Power. > > There have been a surprising number of good rock/indie/whatever/albums over > the last year or so. RE: AW: (313) bands (indie rock)
I was a little disappointed by the Franz Ferdinand album, but maybe I need to give it a few more listens. Other non-electronic bands/acts I've been listening to a lot recently: Black Keys, Fiery Furnaces, The Coral, Devendra Barnhart, British Sea Power. There have been a surprising number of good rock/indie/whatever/albums over the last year or so. The Black Keys "Thickfreakness" was probably the best rock album of last year. As for Flaming Lips, it should be easy enough to pick up "Yoshimi.." on vinyl, although anything older might be tricky. 1. new franz ferdinand lp is very good, the morgan geist rmx of "take me out" is good too (think his rmx for the rapture - house of jealous lovers) 2. German band "naked lunch" will release 1st of march an excellent album called "songs for the exhausted". Check it out, if you like my bloody valentine noisescapes and sonic youth depressions...:) 3. Also recommended: new f.s.k (german "art-folk-rock" combo, existing for more than 20 years...) meets anthony "shake" shakir - "first take, then shake", due to be released on german label disko b. --- c. says : "just gimme indie rock" (sebadoh) :) -Ursprüngliche Nachricht- Von: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Gesendet: Mittwoch, 18. I'm all buzzing this morning as I saw one of my favourite bands last night. so, I was thinking, I ain't too up on indie music or bands, can any list members recommend any good bands to listen to? I keep meaning to get some flaming lips stuff, but never seem to be able to find any vinyl when I have cash, so any other recommendations? Thanks!
