Hello folks,

We recently put up a nice picture gallery of the 7th City party in Detroit last
May.
And after almost five years of running TT.org we have finally created a section
'About TT.org' where we tell a bit about the idea/spirit behind the site and
what TechnoTourist is about, and also about the history of the site.

Enjoy!

I was talking with Dan several months ago and he said 7th
City is coming out with a John Tejada and someone out west
named Jason, I don't remember what his last name is. It's
coming out soon this year.

Sounds like my homeboy Justin Maxwell - he and John Tejada have
worked together, and they/Dan played a white label of a track they
both worked on at Dan's 7th City party (at that place right by
The Works) at last year's Movement. Maybe that track is what's
being released ...

Justin, before moving to Oakland, was part of the LA Electro band
Volsoc (Noodles IT/World Electric/Pretension), along with my homeboy
Jean-Paul Bondy. Czech them if you like forward-thinking Electro.
Now J's in Berlin, releasing a solo album on Compost as we speak ...

Ob313: J. Bondy is originally from Detroit. :-)

you know what? I don't have alot of John Tejada records, but my mate passed
me one in piccadilly yesterday that sounded killer.

it was *someone* & John Tejada, and I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure it
was 'velocette'. now you've said it, that rings a bell.

I only flicked through it, but stuck it in my bag to buy when I get some
money, it really did sound very good on first listen. it was on a label I
didnt recognise too.

I was in a state of shock not having had my injection of dan bell.

He made up for it at the underground stage though so it's all good.

2003-05-28 Thread Grammenos, Peter

This party got busted by the time we got there @ 2:30 am or so. About 2-3
after parties a night got busted ;( Even the ones with permits to 6am. I
think Carol Marvin is behind it...

Dan Bell / Magda / Mathew Dear one after another on the underground stage
more than made up for it though.

hi all - quick report from detroit. arrived in late and after hotel check-in

headed over to the scan 7 rooftop party. thin crowd, but mike grant was
pounding it and buzz goree dropped some great stuff in the back room. left
there and
headed to the cork town tavern. what a great party! i spent nearly all of
the
night in the 7th city room. john tejada was unreal...first time i have seen
him DJ and he had the crowd eating out of his hand!

dan bell rocked later on from 1:30-ish to 3-something, even dropping "losing

control" with a sexy blend of driving techno and techhouse.

and now...off to the festival.

from the D,
kered

its on Gratiot. It'll be on your right (coming from downtown area) and its
an apartment/loft complex...though it doesnt look like it:).

Park in the front or back and go around, dans entrance is in front & its a
kick ass space might I add.
